SmallBore Rifle Shooting
On Monday 17th of
September 2012 room 10 went on a trip. We went to the Smallbore rifle shooting.
We went there on a bus with squishy seats. When we got there we had to line up,
then we went inside and sat in the lounge on the couches.They were soooo bouncy
I almost bounced off.
Then the men in charge
started to talk about the safety rules and how the gun works (that was the only
boring bit). After that we went into a small dark room but they turned the
light on so I could actually see were I was. There were bullets everywhere,
when we got started the men called out numbers and that is where we sat there
was a top floor were the first set of rifles were and a bottom floor where the
second lot of rifles are. Robbie Mc Nair was looking after Memphis, Sarah and
I.
When he put the bullet in I
got really nervous but then I said to myself “I have done this before there is
no reason to be nervous.” So I lined the gun up to the target took a big breath
out and BANG the gun went off with a slight touch, but it wasn’t that loud
because we all had earmuffs on. There were three targets that we had to shoot,
I was pretty good, but not the best.
After that we went back into
the lounge and had something to eat. The boys were shooting with the lazer gun.
They came back bragging about how good they were. Of course the girls didn’t
believe them. So we faced the boys and Aidan was the worst he was shooting
everywhere apart from the targets. When it was time to leave all of us sat down
on the couch and the men called out our names and we grabbed our targets then
sat back down. When we sat on the bus I sat alone because I wanted too. When we
all got back to school we told everyone about it and what score we got. When we
went there in the start the boys said “we are going to smoke you”. And then
when we got back I said “well it looks like you have lost your lighter”. And
all the girls laughed while the boys stared angrily at the girls.

Smallbore shooting
At school
me and some of the class went small bore shooting.
We hopped
on to the bus like a bunch of frogs, then we arrived at the smallbore shooting. I have done it four times before so I’m
good at shooting.
Soul,
Nathan, Dalvyn , Max , Liam and I formed a group and we first went to the
laser shooting. There were 5 targets and we got 5 shots then we went to the
real thing.
I was good
at it, I did not miss a target.
Next we went out side and got my ball (that Teina kicked over the fence) and then went back inside. It was score time
and no surprises there I won out of the kids but Mr O.G. beat me. So I came
second overall in the competition.
By then
we had to go back to the bus back to school, back to work.

SMALLBORE RIFLE SHOOTING

On Monday the 17th of September 2012 18 members of room 10 went to smallbore rifle shooting, but Mr Griffin did the roll to see if everybody was at the event. Sharlei, Kayla, Galaxie, Aleeyah, Isaac and Anya did not go shooting as two were away and 4 were sent to other classes. Liam’s Dad and Ms Forsyth came with us. We arrived at Smallbore Rifle Shooting and Mr McNair showed us some rifles before getting into 3 groups of 6. I was with Aidan, Liam, Max, Nathan and Soul.
First we went to the Laser Rifle event. We had to go in order of oldest to youngest so Aidan went first and scored 2 out of 5. Then it’s my turn and I scored 1, then it was Soul’s turn and he got 2 and then it was Nathan’s turn and he scored 4 as he was one short, then Liam and Max failed to get one out of five when it was their turn.
Then it was to the shooting area and Max, Soul and I were at the bottom and Aidan, Nathan and Liam were at the top building. Our scores were Aidan 90.4 [the highest] , Soul 87, Dalvyn 52, Max 47.2 and Liam and Nathan 24 [equal lowest].
Then it was lunch time for us six and after eating lunch we went outside to find Aidan’s rugby ball which was kicked over the fence by the girls. After we were told to go inside where we did more Laser Rifle shooting. I got four once and then all five next which was a massive improvement. We were not allowed to go to the shooting area as Jayden had a second chance.
Later Mr McNair gave our scores for the small bore event. At the top are our scores and Aidan has best overall with 90.4 and the lowest overall with Nathan and Liam 24. It’s was awesome as it’s better than work. I had never been before and I also scored 52.
Sadly we had to leave shooting to go back to school and when we got back Mr Griffin announced that the girls beat the boys. The challenge was for the girls to beat the boys which sadly they did. Everyone had a good time!
SMALLBORE RIFLE SHOOTING
On Monday 17 September 2012 Room 10 went smallbore rifle
shooting.
Before we left we had to go line up outside the class room and walk
quietly to the bus. We left school
at 11.45 and then we got on the bus to the netball courts and when we arrived
we lined up again outside the lounge.
We went in to the lounge and sat down on a chair or
the ground and then they showed us the gun we would be using, it was a 22
rifle. Mr McNair organized our groups of 6 and then the girls group went in to shoot first, while my group had
lunch. Then we went out
side and played until it was our turn.
First we went in to the laser shooting practice and then we
went to the real shooting. For the laser shooting we had to shoot like a real gun
and aim at the black dots and fire at them and when it turned green you keep
doing it till all of them were green.
Then we went to the real shooting and we
had to put our name down on the list and I was number one. There were two
adults up on the top shooting platform with me, Emmanuel and Jayden. Zamaya, Konrad and Rania
were on the bottom.
After shooting we left to go back to school at 2.00 so we lined up
out side and got on the bus. Miss Forsyth came to take pictures and Mr
Griffin and Mr Foster were looking after us.
This was the best day ever.

Smallbore Rifle Shooting
On Monday the 17th of September 2012 room 10 went on a trip. We went to Smallbore Rifle shooting! Only 18 kids out of 24 went on the trip. We got onto the bus and drove to the Rifle place.
We got off the bus and was told that if any of us were naughty we would get sent back to school with Miss Forsyth (the principal). We went inside and met the staff. Mr McNair told what were going to do. There were 18 of us so we had to jump into 3 groups of 6. There were only 6 girls so we got into a group and the rest were boys. Me and the girls went to the rifle place were we had to shoot the targets.
After we finished the shooting we went outside to play kicks and soccer with Mr Foster.When we were kicking the ball Teina accidently kicked the ball in the tree and we couldn’t get it back so we left it up there and went to the next activity.
We went laser shooting and Teina was first up then I was second. Teina got 1/5 then I got 4/5. When we finished that activity we went back into the lounge room area. Sarah and Konrad got up an said thank you to the staff.
Then we left back to school.

SmallBore Rifle Shooting Experience!!!
On Monday most of Room 10 went to small bore rifle shooting at 11:55 by the netball courts.We went inside sat down and after the safety briefing my group had a munch of lunch.
Then we went outside and played Basketball. Next we went back inside and did laser shooting. We shot 5 little targets and I got 5 in a row.Then we went into the rifle range where I had gun 5. My first 13 were not that good but luckily I had a second go with Mr Griffin and Mr Foster. My second 13 were much better.
Then we went back into the little room and Mr McNair gave out the scores. My first go was 31.1 and my second go was 65.5 which is all good for me.
I think it was a good experience for us and we had loads of FUN!!!.
When we got to school and tallied up the scores the girls got an average score was 62.1 and the boys got 52.4.

Smallbore rifle shooting
On Monday the 17th of September Room10, Mr Griffin, Fred and Miss Forsyth went on Room 10’s trip to smallbore shooting.
There were 3 groups of 6 and the first team to go shooting was Teina’s group. Aidan’s group went to laser shooting, and my group just had lunch.
After lunch we took our turn at laser shooting. It took me two tries to get all five. After me was Rania. Rania got two tries then got kicked off.
Finally we were up for the real deal smallbore shooting. I was a little bit nervous but then I got the hang of it. It was me, Rania and Zamaya down the bottom. I came out with an alright score but the girls came away with the win.

SMALLBORE RIFLE SHOOTING
On
Monday the 17th most of Room 10 hopped on a bus and went to the
sports centre rifle range to shoot targets.
Aidan, Soul, Max, Dalvyn, Nathan and I were a group and we went to the training room first. What we had to do was
shoot a light thing and when you shot it, it lit up. I didn’t get a hit but
nether did Max. Next we did the shooting with the bolt-action rifle and live
ammo my score was 24 / 101 (I was terrible) it was too high for me!
Next we had lunch
then the girls kicked Aidan’s rugby ball up in a tree. Mr Griffin hoisted Aidan
into the tree and once Aidan got his ball Mr Griffin swung him around and put him
down.
Sadly we had to go back to school.
That’s the conclusion to the best day
ever!!

Room 10’s small-bore rifle
shooting.
On the 17th of September we went to the
Dannevirke shooting club.
First we got on the bus at quarter to twelve, at
twelve o’clock we finally got to the small-bore rifle courts. When we went in a
man named Mr McNair talked to us about what to do and not to do and some
safety, stuff like that. Then we went into groups of six; in my group were
Liam, Nathan, Aidan, Soul, Dalvyn and me. Together we went to the laser rifle,
there was a box with 5 holes and in each hole was a green light and when you
shoot the light it turns on. Then we went into the firing range to shoot some
22s (I got a bolt action instead of a lever action.) Afterwards we went
outside, Aidan jumped over a fence to retrieve his rugby ball. Then we went back
inside to get our target that we shot at. Then we (sadly) went back to school.

SmallBore Rifle!

We went at 11:45 am Monday the 17th of September to
Smallbore rifle shooting.
First off we lined up and hopped on the bus for the short
ride to the shooting place. When we hopped off the bus we lined up and talked
about what would happen if some people were silly. If someone was silly they would have to go back to school to
do work.
After that we had to go into the lounge and sat down.
We listened to all the safety rules so we would be safe while shooting.
We had to get into three groups of six and there were
only six girls so we got together. There were twelve boys so the boys got into
two groups.
When we were finished talking the girls had to go
shooting first. There were two platforms. There was a top platform and a bottom
platform. I was number six so I went down bottom on the left hand side. It was
scary at first but then it got really fun.
When the girls were finished shooting we went back
into the lounge and got something to eat. When we were finished eating, Fred
(Mr Foster) took us outside to play games.
When we were finished playing we went inside to play
with some kind of laser gun. You
had to try and shoot these little holes and if you shot it in the hole it would
light up green. I shot three holes out of five, Sarah and Teina got five.
But sadly our trip came to an end. Sarah and Konrad
thanked them for letting us have a trip there. When we left we lined up and
hopped back on the bus and went right back to school. That was so much fun I
hope I can do that again.
P.S nobody was silly.
Smallbore Shooting
Monday 17th September 2012 Room 10 were going small bore rifle shooting. We left school at 11.45 am.
First thing we did is get on the bus, then when we got there we lined up and went in to the lounge. We sat down and they showed us the gun we were using, we used a 22 rifle. Mr McNair explained every thing first before we actually used the real thing, it was a special target gun we had to use. I was excited because it was my first time shooting.
We had adults to instruct us and make sure we were safe. My score was 24.0 and that was pretty good for my first time.
We also got to shoot a laser gun that we had to shoot at a black circle that showed a green light if we hit it.
It was fun.

Smallbore Rifle Shooting
On Monday 17th September 2012 Room 10 went Smallbore rifle shooting at the sports centre for a class trip.
As we got ready Mr Griffin did a roll call so we didn’t leave behind the people who were supposed to go. The people who didn’t deserve to go stayed back at school and did work.
After that we had to go on the bus down to the sport centre. When we arrived we did another roll call and gradually walked over to the shooting rooms.
Soon as we sat down Robbie McNair brought out two different types of a rifle and explained how they work and the safety rules so we were extra safe.
Not long after that we got into groups of six. Emily, Memphis, Teina, Tiamana, Jahleah and I were in a group together. Before we went into the shooting area we had to write down our names on a bit of paper. This helped them know what target belongs to which person.
Then the girls went into the shooting area and were assigned a gun. They gave me a righty but we found out that I was actually a lefty. Before we shot we loaded the rifle and lined it up. We were on the ground in a prone position. One thing we had to be very careful with was that the slightest touch on the trigger would set the rifle off.
Once we came out from shooting I was so hungry I sat down and had some lunch. Mr Foster then took us out for a joyful game of soccer.
Not long after it was the awesome shooters {GIRLS} turn with the laser gun. When it was my turn I shot 5 times and got all 5 targets just like that.
Later in the afternoon we read out the scores. I came 1st in the girls; 2nd overall and 4th including the adults. Aidan came first in the boys and out of all the kids.
Then sadly it was time to go back to school.
When we got back to school we worked out if the boys or the girls had won. To work this out we added the scores together and divided them by the number of scores to find the average the girls scored 62.1 and the boys scores was 52.4. The girls won the competition as we expected. I think the boys were a bit mad that they lost and we won.
All in all I had a incredible time small bore rifle shooting and I would love to go again. Also I can’t wait for the start of the season next year so I can join.

Class Trip

On
Monday 17 September 2012 18 of my class went rifle shooting.
A
guy named Robbie McNair led us to the gunrooms. At first I went to the laser we
had a group of 6. These people
were in my group; Nathan , Liam , Dalvyn, Max and Aidan. I was pretty good at
it, I got 87.3 points.
Apparently
the girls were better than the boys at shooting. The boys had an overall
average of 52.4 and the girls got 62.1. The laser shooting was cool but the
small bore shooting was even cooler.
Smallbore Shooting Trip
On the 17th
of September after second break Room 10 hopped on the bus and traveled to the
basketball stadium to do small-bore rifle shooting.
Miss Forsyth arrived
and told us that her car was here for a reason, if we were naughty we would be straight back to school!
When we got inside Mr. McNair
had a talk to us about safety and stuff. The girls were up first, in my group
there was Sarah, Memphis, Emily, Jahleah, Tiamana and me. I was up top in the
middle my number was 3. The trigger was very sensitive. On my 6th shot I got a bull’s-eye. I got all my
shots on the black targets.
After our turn we went and had a feed then went
out side with Fred and played soccer and kicks with the balls. I got Aidan’s
ball stuck in the tree.
When we came back inside we had a turn with the laser
gun, it was really hard and fun. On the first go I got 1 out of 5 then on the second go Sarah and I
got 5 out of 5.
After that all of us went and sat in the main room and Mr.
McNair read out all of the results, I got 81.1 I was really proud of myself.
Then
we got back on the bus and came back to school. I loved the trip that we had,
it was really fun and I cant wait for next year because I'm going to sign up.

Smallbore Rifle Shooting

On Monday the 17th September Room10 went smallbore shooting with Mr Griffin, Miss Forsyth and Mr Foster.
When we got inside I was shocked when I saw the 22 rifle. When I went into the laser room I was a little bit nervous, but when you shoot the laser gun it is fun.
Then we went to go to the rifle room. I was excited to shoot. I was down the bottom by Konrad and Rania.
When we finished smallbore shooting my mate Konrad and Sarah said a thank you speech to the owners.
It was a fun time there.
